Over 40,000 people use Google every second - although this is an astonishing number, it is no revelation.

What was a revelation was when Google's Co-Founder, Sergey Brin, expressed that he finds blockchain technology "Mind-boggling" and "Extraordinary" a recent blockchain conference in Morocco.

Sir Richard Branson hosted the fourth annual Blockchain Summit in Marrakech, Morocco in early July 2018 - which was by invite only.

Sergey Brin was a member of a panel at the conference and discussed the future of blockchain technology in our everyday lives.

"A year or two ago my son insisted that we needed to get a gaming PC. I said 'okay, but if we get one we have to mine cryptocurrency.' So, I set up an Ethereum miner and we started making a few pennies and dollars since then. But that definitely got me interested so I started to study up and I found it to be fascinating."

Brin noted that although Google has been slow to adopt blockchain technology, he finds the potential of blockchain "Extraordinary." He added Google 'failed to be on the bleeding edge' of blockchain.

Brin mentioned Google's semi-secret research team, Google X, because he believes blockchain may be within their realm.

He went on to say, "I see the future as taking these kind of research-y kind of out-there ideas and making them real - and Google X is kind of like that".

As Google is one of the largest and most influential corporations in the world, it is very encouraging to know one of the company's Co-Founders is a strong believer in the potential of blockchain in our everyday lives.
